Back to the Brewery!

It was a great night playing with Sixpenny at the Main Street Brewery in Pleasanton, CA. Sixpenny has really clicked as a talented band playing traditional Celtic music. So impressive to hear such a big sound: 2 fiddles, mandolin, guitar/octave mandolin, acoustic bass/cello and flute/penny whistle.

Sixpenny Debuts

Sixpenny, the Irish band from Dublin (California, that is) will play its debut show at the Main Street Brewery in Pleasanton on June 30. This is a really great ensemble: Jean Olds on fiddle; Dale Olds on guitar and octave mandolin; Ken Passeri on fiddle and guitar; Nancy McGhee on acoustic bass, cello and bodhran; Lauren Nourse on flute and penny whistle; and me on guitar and mandolin. We are passionate about Irish music, particularly instrumentals with impressive fiddling and picking.

Returning to NewCAJE with Borrowed Melodies

I’ll be back at the 2022 NewCAJE Conference this year with a guitar workshop exploring borrowed melodies I like to use in worship.
